Now Selangor wants 'religious vocational school' . Why not just vocational school for ALL

Rather than moving away from the BN practices of 'divide and rule'. the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor government is again at it - behaving just like the BN.

Now they want to establish a "religious vocational school" - My first question is WHY?

Would this school be only for Muslims? ...and again we ask the question "WHY?"

Why not just set up vocational schools - open to every one, and you could include religious instructions in the syllabus. Maybe, it should not just be confined to Islam - but could also include religious instructions for the other religions. (I am sure that the MCCBCHS would help in providing the other religious teachers....)

Talking about religions - one thing that should be done is the teaching of all persons some basics of the various different religions in Malaysia - including also some of its practices. This knowledge will also help build a community where there is understanding and mutual respect...

UNITE Malaysians - stop this 'Divide and Rule' practices of the BN...

Selangor Kaji Cadangan Tubuh Sekolah Agama Vokasional

– NOOR ALLIA KASSIM

  5. Here the people are urging the govt to improve our national school education stds and also to be more sensitive towards the needs of non-muslim students,so that more and more non-malay students would go to the national schools, comes another govt who calls itself a multi-racial party doing exactly what the BN was doing. This very party subscribed to the clarion call of `makkal sakthi'or people power before the 12th GE,what happened now?Is this the way to encourage racial integration?Looks like they are further deepening the already deep cracks in society. When Indian youths get involved in gangsterism, every one curse and swear at them,so why dont this Selangor govt, open up a vocational school to train these poverty stricken Indian youths too together with other races who need such help.Is it not the responsibilty of the govt including state govts to take care of all its citizens? This is blatant discrimination and very dissapointing to people like me and all right minded Malaysians who chose to vote for PR.I truly hope the Selangor state govt comes to its senses and treat every needy youth of the country equally, regardless of race and religion.

  7. Chinese and Tamil schools teach us the language and not the religion. There is nothing wrong with learning a few languages at one time. In fact, in this world of globalisation, by having more language at hand, one can have an advantage over another person.

If everyone is to read malay language and do not know other languages, we may not progress as there are so many scientific reports in english and mandarin.

At this point, you may start accusing me of playing down malay language etc, but this is a painful fact. To be a progressive society, we need to diversify in our language. We respect malay language as our national language just like Singapore, but that doesn't mean we should just learn the malay language. In conclusion, more language = more advantage.

A vocational religious school on the other hand is a divide and rule system. You are isolating a group of people. Everyone can enroll into a chinese and tamil schools but not everyone can enroll into a vocational religious school unless they are of that particular religion.

Frankly speaking, it would be better to abolish the religious schools in Malaysia and if the government really wants the civilian to have a good religious education, the government can opt for extra classes for religious education purposes which would be conducted by the churches, temples, mosques etc.

These are just opinions. If you're offended by it, I am truly sorry.

  8. I'm really getting tired and fed up of politics, most of all the politicians who just talk cock all the time irrespective of which side (BN or PR) they belong to. BIKIN TAK SERUPA CAKAP. With the attitude and mentality of these politicians, I am damn cock sure RACIAL UNITY will never be achieved, not in our lifetime and also many many generations to come.
I believe the malays who claimed to be BUMIPUTRAS (which as a matter of facts, Orang Asli should be the ones) will be left to rot here in this country if they still hold on to their manipulated superiority status 'KETUAAN MELAYU'. For non-malays, in the worst situation they would just forsake this country and go to countries where they are more welcome and be treated fairly as they have nothing to lose comparing to the so-called bumiputras. The non-malays had been subsconsciously trained by the circumstances for the past 50 over years to be independent, resilient and more adaptable than most malays who can't live with tongkats and survive without being fed. So, to all these bumi-political goons, do what you gotta do to destroy this country by being the greatest moronic race in this world. Your GOD loves it.

  11. Well said anonymous 1.13pm,I concur with you wholeheartedly. But on the other hand if the govt can offer the tamil and chinese classes during school hours with greater emphasis, and also have in place a quality education system by well trained and excellent teachers,I feel there is no need to have vernacular schools as we are all aiming for national integration, which should start right from grade one,as those are the formative years for a child, dont you think so?But sadly this is not happening in our national schools. In fact the opposite is what happening, fully endorsed by our racist govt, but the majority simply cant understand this fact, they cant even understand that by having a multilinguist and a multicultural society,it is actually the pride of the nation as the western world is promoting now.I am now living in Australia,my sister-in-law,here in Australia once went to her son's school in Sydney, and requested the headmaster if she could teach Hinduism once in a week to those hindu students in that school.Believe me,she was welcomed with pride,it has been a year now and she is still teaching. And this is happening in a western country and in a school where 80% of the students are christians. Can we ever imagine such thing taking place in Malaysia, where creeping islamisation and segregation of malay and non-malay students in class rooms are the order of the day?But you have people from the majority questioning about our patriotism towards our Malaysia.

    Anonymous 6.16pm,
What else you want us to prove? My grand father toiled for Malaysia,my father toiled for Malaysia,I too worked very hard and with sincerity for my country Malaysia despite being sidelined when it came to promotions and etc, what we all saw was only discrimination, bukan bumi, bukan melayu,so what else you want us to prove?Until I got so frustrated with your UMNO that I finally decided to leave my beloved Malaysia and my old parents and come to a western country just for my kids' future.Today a western country is benefitting from me and my wife.It was not my wish to migrate but I was forced to, by your UMNO's discrimination,so what else you want us to prove? The onus is actually on the UMNO govt to prove that they are sincere in accepting us as the citizens of the country too. Please dont hurt people with words without really knowing the true picture. If you do that,Malaysia will lose out further.
