If Najib resigns now, will Malaysians still vote in BN because 'give NEW PM a chance' at next General Elections?

Malaysians have in the past been easily played - one BN Prime Minister resigns ...and people say 'Oh let us give the new one a chance' . So we gave Badawi a chance... and then many gave Najib a chance - but really, it is rather foolish to blame BN government policy, laws and actions on just one person - the current Prime Minister - no the blame must fall certainly on the entire cabinet (anyone not OK would have as a matter of principle resigned[or at least spoken out]... from Najib's cabinet - but they all stayed on...) ...and the blame also on all the current BN and pro BN MPs (or other MPs) that have chosen to support Najib as Prime Minister...

So when the PAS President is reported saying that Najib should remain as Prime Minister - is it really a political strategy >> it would be so much easier to defeat BN come next General Elections with Najib still at the helm as Prime Minister - compared to BN with some other person sitting as new PM - because there will always be some that say, let's give the new man a chance...

Anwar, after he was ousted out of Mahathir's cabinet - tried to paint a picture that he was innocent of the 'wrongdoings' when Mahathir was Prime Minister - He tried to claim that he made protests about the use of ISA, etc  - well, for me, he never did come out publicly, and he chose to remain in Dr. M's cabinet - Anwar was just as guilty as Dr Mahathir for the various wrongs committed then - Anwar may have repented after being booted out of Cabinet, and UMNO... and may be a changed person today. Yes, it was that 'innocent Anwar that could not do anything until he bacame PM' mentality that has allowed BN(or rather the UMNO led coalition of political parties) to continue to govern since Independence - When a PM becomes unpopular, the BN will change the PM ... and ..

But the point that is made is that we should NOT be just blaming individuals or just the PM - the blame for the wrongs committed must fall on the entire Barisan Nasional - certainly all members of the Cabinet when the alleged wrongdoing happens... who did keep 'silent' and allowed it all  to proceed unhindered... unless someone is suggesting the Najib cabinet was just for show - and all that really happened during Najib's reign was only known, and decided by him alone. That suggestion makes no sense at all and is absurd.

A Deputy Prime Minister or Minister who disagrees with what a Prime Minister does...should just resign from the Cabinet >>> remember choice of who will be the next Prime Minister rests with the Members of Parliament - not the existing Cabinet Members or even the outgoing Prime Minister...

So, one may want to take what Hadi is saying now with suspicion... Is he saying what he is saying because he personally supports Najib as PM... or is there really some other motive behind those words..?

Hadi backs Najib to stay on as PM
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has broken ranks with the federal opposition, backing Najib Abdul Razak to stay on as prime minister.

"He should not succumb to pressure and he should be allowed to solve the problems he is facing.

"I agree with him that he should not step down and I must say that he should be given a chance to finish his term," he was quoted as saying in Kuala Terengganu by The Star Online.

Abdul Hadi’s endorsement comes amid urgings for Najib, who is also finance minister, to step down over cash-strapped 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) which is struggling to repay its RM42 billion debt.

Abdul Hadi added there was no need to push Najib out over 1MDB as there had been similar controversies before under different leaderships.

“This is not entirely new. Before 1MDB, we also had problems with Perwaja (Steel Sdn Bhd) and Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), just to name a few.

“It is a shame to pressure him to step down as we should practice a healthy democratic system,” he was quoted as saying.

However, he said the rakyat can punish Najib if has done wrong at when his term expires and polls are due.

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has relentlessly attacked Najib over the Finance Ministry-owned 1MDB, demanding that he quit as prime minister.

Tabung Haji fiasco

1MDB’s move to sell part of its Tun Razak Exchange (TX) land to Lembaga Tabung Haji in an apparent bid to raise funds to repay its debt has also ruffled feathers within Umno.

Najib yesterday met with the top Umno leadership in a bid to show a united front, insisting that there is no split and that all is well with his deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin, who had criticised him over 1MDB.

Tabung Haji had paid RM188.5 million for 1.56 acres of the 70-acre Tun Razak Exchange land owned by 1MDB.

1MDB had purchased the entire 70 acres from the government for a mere RM194.1 million.

Najib later asked Tabung Haji to resell the land to a third party in a bid to defuse the controversy.

The purchase was seen as a bailout of 1MDB, prompting Muhyiddin to say that he was at a loss at how to explain the matter to the public.

“The rakyat wants to know why no one has been charged, why the 1MDB board has not been sacked, and about the position of the chief executive oficer and the prime minister as adviser,” he had said last Friday.

However, Najib yesterday accused certain quarters of trying to drive a wedge between him and his deputy, and said anyone wanting to do so will be “disappointed”. - Malaysiakini, 12/5/2015
