ISA :- Malaysia, an obedient servant of US?some "...other governments, international intelligence agencies and anti-terrorist bodies..."?

So did some country(ies) ask Malaysia to arrest A, B, C,.... if they turn up in Malaysia, and then send them to us?

So, when A, B, C,.... was found in Malaysia, Malaysia dutifully arrested and detained these people under the ISA...., and will now be sending them to....where?

Has Malaysia become a 'faithful servant' to some country(ies)? Hishamuddin seem to imply that these arrest was made because someone else told Malaysia to do this...
Hishammuddin said the arrests of the nine was proof of the Malaysian authorities’ capabilities and their good working relations with other governments, international intelligence agencies and anti-terrorist bodies.- Star, 18/2/2010, Nine foreigners with alleged terror links will be sent home, says Hisham
Was the US behind this? Were the persons arrested really Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghanistan 'freedom fighters'? US and Israel will consider those fighting for Palestinian independence and freedoms 'terrorists' - and will Malaysia hand them over to be possibly 'tortured', detained, etc...?

So, Malaysia would blindly arrest and hand over persons to which countries? to which 'international inteligence agencies'?..to which 'anti-terrorist bodies'?

What happens to these persons if they are subsequently tortured, denied a fair trial, killed? What then is Malaysia's position? What then would be Malaysia's sin? Is Malaysia  now pro-US? Or is Malaysia pro-human rights and justice?

What about presumption of innocence until proven guilty? This has to apply to all persons... go see Malaysia's Constitution, i.e. Art. 8 that guarantees this equality and equal treatment to all persons

(1) All persons are equal before the law and entitled to the equal protection of the law.

Are these people under the ISA really refugees?

Are they mere suspects?

More importantly, did they commit any crime in Malaysia that allows the Malaysian authority to arrest and detain them...and now, deport them to who knows where?

A person can be arrested and detained under the ISA only if it is going to be prejudicial to the security of Malaysia... (not if it is going to be prejudicial to the security of US, Israel, France,...the world...)

(1) If the Minister is satisfied that the detention of any person is necessary with a view to preventing him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of Malaysia or any part thereof or to the maintenance of essential services therein or to the economic life thereof, he may make an order (hereinafter referred to as a detention order) directing that that person be detained for any period not exceeding two years.

UMNO youth recently protested about Malaysia's sovereignty in front of the Australian embassy concerning some remarks opinions about the Anwar trial. Maybe, they should also be protesting about these 'ISA arrests' ... ?

You cannot simply arrest any person, and then detain them under the ISA...and then later deport them.

Malaysians deserve to know why Malaysia arrested them under the ISA. Who asked that they be arrested?

Getting into good books of "other governments, international intelligence agencies and anti-terrorist bodies" is no justification of arresting people under the ISA.

I wonder whether Malaysia would arrest the operators of the un-manned US drones that bombed and killed innocent civilians in Pakistan and Afghanistan? Surely, these were also acts of terrorism that goes against the rule of law? Or will Malaysia only do the bidding of selected countries and bodies?

PUTRAJAYA: Arrangements are being made to extradite the nine foreigners who were detained recently under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for alleged links with international terrorist organisations.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the nine are high on their home countries’ wanted list and the respective governments were reported to be already making arrangements for them to be extradited.

“I hope that they will be extradited as soon as possible because I want to reduce the number of people being detained under the ISA.

“I have worked so hard at reducing the number (of detainees) but in one night, I filled up (the detention centre) again,” he told reporters after chairing his ministry’s post-Cabinet meeting here yesterday.

Hishammuddin said the arrests of the nine was proof of the Malaysian authorities’ capabilities and their good working relations with other governments, international intelligence agencies and anti-terrorist bodies.

Last month, 10 people — nine of them foreigners — were held under the ISA.

The minister, however, declined to provide details on where and when the suspected terrorists were arrested and which terrorist networks they were linked to. Star, 18/2/2010, Nine foreigners with alleged terror links will be sent home, says Hisham
