Electronic Industry Employees Union Western Region, Peninsular Malaysia (EIEUWR)/ Kesatuan Sekerja Industri Elektronik Wilayah Barat Semenjung Malaysia(KSIEWBSM) and workers had a picket before Human Resource Ministry at Putrajaya today(14/3/2013) at 3.00 pm.
Their protest is, in connection with the delay/refusal of RENESAS Semiconductor KL Sdn Bhd (formerly known as NEC Semiconductors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd], an electronic factory to accord recognition to EIEUWR - whereby it has been more than 3 years since the first application for recognition. If a Union does not get recognition, they cannot start to effective represent the workers ...to negotiate and enter a Collective Bargaining Agreement...The UNION is also agree with the Director General of Industrial Relation who is not speedily carrying out the secret ballot.
