Orang Asli and victims of Crime - End POLICY of protecting certain CLASS of Criminals - and ignoring JUSTICE for Victims - Public Prosecutor, Government, Political Party position???

PM Anwar Ibrahim and Public Prosecutor Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, HAS anyone been charged yet for the destroying of Orang Asli homes YET - surely the identify of those who broke the LAW is already known, and the fact that it was an ILLEGAL ACT of destroying the HOMES - worse without giving the opportunity for these families to even take out their belongings...

About 20 Orang Asli from the Jakun sub-group lost their homes after a plantation company demolished six houses in Pekan, Pahang, on Monday. ...It was supposedly to enforce the company’s right to the land, which was leased from a state-owned corporation for 30 years for an oil palm plantation.Orang Asli activist Jaidi Musa said the incident shocked the villagers as it was allegedly done without prior notice or consultation....“How could you simply tear down the community’s houses when they were not at home?” Jaidi told Malaysiakini. - Malaysiakini, 8/5/2026

Do we know who broke the LAW and destroyed the Orang Asli homes - who destroyed it, and who ordered it? SO, why has NO ONE been charged YET in COURT? If this happens, it is maybe 'selective NON-Investigation' OR 'selective NON-Prosecution' - and that maybe an ABUSE of power of the law enforcement, Public Prosecutor...

Or did the government ask that there be NO INVESTIGATION or NON-PROSECUTION - was it the Prime Minister, Menteri Besar or even 'the ROYALTY'? If so, again it is an ABUSE of POWER - because in Malaysia, the relevant law enforcement and Prosecution is DUTY Bound to investigate if a CRIME is committed... so should we ASK for Dusuki to RESIGN as Public Prosecutor? REMEMBER, only the Court has the POWER to decide whether a CRIMINAL Perpetrator is GUILTY or...

PUBLIC PROSECUTOR already knows about the CRIME (as it was also reported in the media), and the Public Prosecutor can ensure that law enforcement investigate and provide needed evidence so the Public Prosecutor can decide who to charge and for what offence.

EVIDENCE - well, it this case, the fact that a CRIME has been committed is known - and WHO committed the crime also seems obvious > as the criminal perpetrators also tried to 'justify' their CRIME -

When contacted, Pekan district police chief Zaidi Mat Zin said that police were there only to monitor the demolition. He said the Pekan police headquarters was notified of the company’s plan and sent a team to ensure no untoward incidents between the parties.

How could the POLICE become 'accomplices' to the CRIME ??. How come the POLICE did not know the LAW - surely the Police should know that 'SELF HELP' to destroy homes/buildings/farms/etc on your own land is PROHIBITED in LAW > you cannot act on your OWN - you need to go to the relevant authorities and REPORT it, and then this matter needs to go to Court, and get a COURT ORDER for demolition... Same applies to a TENANT who rented your house > you cannot ON YOUR OWN force him out - you CANNOT take the law into your hands > he need to get the RELEVANT Court Order - and the COURT then does the needful > the Court Bailiff will ACT to legally remove BUILDINGS, farms, etc.. POLICE who do not know the LAW should be PENALISED, and maybe the Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution to should be BLAMED - and should RESIGN > how can they accompany the 'criminals' to do a CRIME, which the POLICE ought to know, and SHOULD have STOPPED the Crime... Should the Pekan district police chief Zaidi Mat Zin be SACKED? How did he ever QUALIFY to be police chief when he did not know the LAW - did he even check if there was a COURT ORDER? Or did he NOT CARE?

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has urged the public not to take the law into their own hands over places of worship purportedly built without approval. Anwar said no individual or group had the right to act based on their own feelings or preferences, adding that the rule of law must be upheld in Malaysia. “This country must be based on rules and laws, not on the whims and fancies of individuals. You have no right whatsoever to take the law into your own hands,” he said at the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia’s Chinese New Year celebration tonight.

This follows recent disputes over houses of worship that allegedly do not comply with regulations, and a campaign to demolish such places of worship being pushed by certain quarters. It also comes after police arrested four men who allegedly demolished part of a temple in Rawang, Selangor, earlier today. The police also seized a backhoe.  - FMT, 11/2/2026

PM Anwar Ibrahim also recently told people that this was a CRIME - so, how come the Pekan district police chief Zaidi Mat Zin not KNOW that destruction of OA house was a CRIME - Now, the police have just become accomplices to a CRIME - and hence the Pekan district police chief Zaidi Mat Zin ought to also be charged in COURT>

Where is Public Prosecutor DUSUKI - why has he not come out to EDUCATE the police and Malaysians about this CRIME? Surely, it is his duty - should DUSUKI also resign?

Now, the said land belonged to a State Government entity > how could the LEASE the land out knowing the Orang Asli was there?

Was the fact of WHO owns the Land, the involvement of the POLICE in the CRIME - lead to 'NON-INVESTIGATION' and Non-prosecution of them criminal perpetrators?

Since the CRIME and the serious violation of Human Rights, the Government has yet to come out and express their anger over this CRIME - calling for a thorough investigation and prosecution of all affected .....AND the provision of IMMEDIATE assistance to the victims??

SHOCKING also that  MINISTER or Deputy Minister displayed a LACK OF RESPECT to the people, in this case the Orang Asli, when the MINISTER failed to personally go receive the Memorandum from thousands of these Malaysian voters ... This should be an EVALUATION of all Malaysian VOTERS when they vote in upcoming elections ... ??

In this case, the Orang Asli affected did not even KNOW - that their HOMES will be GONE when they get home.

PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES - you go to work, and when you return home > you find your HOME destroyed... and all the contents of your home destroyed or thrown out in the sun and rain...

The whole incident was VERY SERIOUS - and one would have expected the Prime Minister, State Chief Minister,... to quickly SPEAK OUT against this CRIME.

They should have also taken their time to meet with VICTIMS > Did even the MP and ADUN of the area show UP? Did the 'wakil rakyat'(peoples representative) in the Local Government(Local Council)[though politically appointed and not democratically elected] turn up and support the VICTIMS...What about them political parties that hope to contest and become MP/ADUN in the area?

Why has Tamim Dahri and three other men, who committed a CRIME when they destroyed a Temple in Rawang yet to be CHARGED and tried in Court....

Of late, the media reports are about ANOTHER INCIDENT ...Another CRIME - under Section 295 of the Penal Code for allegedly desecrating a "soolam", a sacred Hindu symbol, at the former site of the Sri Maha Muniswarar temple in Langkawi, Kedah. HAVE Tamim Dahri BEEN CHARGED YET? In this case, they ran away overseas on the date they were supposed to attend court to be CHARGED - thus, even if and when they are charged > there is credible evidence of 'flight risk' - running away, and not attending court for their trials - THUS, a justification for the DENIAL of BAIL.

2 Different Crimes of Tamim Dahri and Ors - so must be CHARGED for both these crimes - EXPLAIN PP DUSUKI...

For, the RAWANG CRIME, is the Public Prosecutor 'justifying' not charging because the High Court 'quashed' the Magistrate's Remand Order?

High Court quashes two-day remand order for Tamim Dahri and three others issued by a lower court this morning....The four men were arrested yesterday for allegedly demolishing part of a temple in Rawang, with police also seizing a backhoe. The case is being investigated for mischief, causing damage to a place of worship, insult with intent to breach the peace, and criminal trespass.

DUSUKI, being a lawyer with LEGAL knowledge, you know very WELL that a REFUSAL of Remand, or a HIGH Court quashing a REMAND Order - is NOT a COURT decision that the 'suspects' are NOT GUILTY - and investigations and prosecution should STOP.

A REMAND application is just an application by police/law enforcement that the 'suspect' be remanded - Detained/Locked-Up for the purpose of investigations. The police may APPLY - but Magistrate's can refuse, and even if Magistrate orders remand - that decision can be overturned by High Courts...

Is REMAND needed for investigation? Of COURSE not - whether one is remanded or not, Investigation CONTINUES, and when the Prosecution is satisfied that they have got SUFFICIENT Evidence to prove that the suspect is Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt, or at the very least a Prima Facie case - prosecution charges the suspect in court, thereafter suspect becomes the ACCUSED...

Is this Government trying to convince people that Tamim Dahri and three other men are INNOCENT because the High Court quashed the Magistrate's Remand Order and released them? This is SO WRONG and it is an attempt to DECEIVE the Malaysian Public - I hope the government/PP/Police did not do this????

Back to the question, WHY has 'Tamim Dahri and three other (maybe more)' still not been charged in Court for their crime of destruction of the Rawang Temple?

Has Tamim and others been charged yet for the CRIME - under Section 295 of the Penal Code for allegedly desecrating a "soolam", a sacred Hindu symbol, at the former site of the Sri Maha Muniswarar temple in Langkawi, Kedah

Khalid said Tamim faces a charge under Section 295 of the Penal Code for allegedly desecrating a "soolam", a sacred Hindu symbol, at the former site of the Sri Maha Muniswarar temple in Langkawi, Kedah.

REMAND APPLICATION - Is it really needed that the 'suspect' be detained(locked-up) for the purpose of investigations? Any suspect without REMAND can be investigated - Najib, Rosmah, Zahid Hamidi, ...and many others were not remanded. Anyone who has a home, a registered address, who the police/Magistrate will participate in the investigation (that means come meet investigation officer on appointment) dates do not need to be REMANDED - we do not like 'per-conviction punishments of 'suspects')? Is the suspect a 'flight risk'? THUS, the refusal of REMAND application, or even a HIGH Court quashing a Remand Order is of NO RELEVANCE as far investigating and prosecuting(charging in Court, and trying...) of any person.

TEMPLE DESTRUCTION - Who committed the Crime is known? It is a fact that the temple had been destroyed...> ALL evidence, sufficient, I believe to prove PRIMA FACIE case is there > so WHY have they not be CHARGED in Court Yet?

Considering what happened, when the ERA FM employees, have still not been CHARGED - there is a REAL Concern about 'selective NON-INVESTIGATION and selective NON-PROSECUTION...in these case > Is it a GOVERNMENT POLICY, or simply a FAILURE OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE - the failure of Public Prosecutor and/or Law Enforcement?

ERA FM Must Refuse Compound Offer, Also Any ‘Out Of Court Settlement’, As It Impacts On Press Freedom And Puts At Risk Media Organizations For Crimes Committed By Employees, Without Their Knowledge/Consent

ERA FM Employees - charge them Sec. 298 Penal Code - Actions which wound religious feelings - not Section 233 CMA 1988, which must be repealed? Anwar - personally speak up

Then, the case of teacher punishing students by standing under HOT Sun - one became a person with disability??? Has the teacher been charged yet?

WHY teacher perpetrator who 'tortured' kids by standing under the hot sun NOT been charged yet? Another case of 'preferential treatment" of law breakers?

Malaysians are WATCHING and it affects perception, when in Malaysia, SOME seems to not get investigated and charged - Is this a Government Policy of 'PROTECTION' of some classes of CRIMINALS? Thinks about the VICTIMS who then are denied JUSTICE

MEDIA -  we need an ETHICAL and Honest MEDIA - and it also raise important questions, and ensure that the PUBLIC is informed - do not be caught being a government 'crony' pushing only the government narrative and NOT the whole TRUTH.

The media is widely recognized as the fourth pillar of democracy. Alongside the traditional three branches of government (the legislature, executive, and judiciary), it acts as a critical watchdog. By keeping the public informed and holding power to account, it ensures the system remains transparent and responsive to citizens.

Thousands of Orang Asli descend on Zahid's office, demand government stop demolitions and respect 'tanah adat'

It comes more than a month after authorities in Pahang demolished houses belonging to the Jakun community.

MalaysiaNow

The crowd gathered outside the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development in Putrajaya, demanding that the government recognise the Orang Asli's customary land rights.

Thousands of Orang Asli gathered outside the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development in Putrajaya, more than a month after authorities in Pahang demolished homes inhabited for generations by the Jakun indigenous community to make way for a plantation company which obtained a lease of the land from the state government.

The protest was organised by vocal environmental pressure group Association for the Protection of National Heritage, or Peka, together with Orang Asli rights advocates Coalition of Orang Asli NGOs of Peninsular Malaysia and the local chapter of Greenpeace.

Protesters held banners and placards condemning the May 4 demolition of about 20 houses in Pekan, Pahang, saying it was part of a pattern in which the government has violated their rights to customary land, or tanah adat.

"Stop! Stop oppressing us. Stop, stop the logging! Stop, stop the mining! Stop, stop the plantation," they shouted outside the ministry, which is led by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Lawyer and Peka president Rajesh Nagarajan said the government must immediately ensure lands inhabited by the Orang Asli community are off limits to private companies.

"The state government took Orang Asli land and gave it to developers. We want the government to stop this despicable act. Do not give Orang Asli land to developers."

Rajesh slammed the Department of Orang Asli Development (Jakoa), and urged Zahid to remove its director-general.

"Jakoa does not care about their welfare. We demand the director-general of Jakoa resign immediately," he said.

Protesters later urged Zahid to personally receive their memorandum, which among other demands called for the government to recognise the status of "tanah adat" and for a complete halt to the demolition of Orang Asli villages nationwide.

They also refused to meet Zahid's representative, saying they would not budge until the deputy prime minister met them in person.

Zahid later sent his special officer to collect the memorandum, only to be met by jeers and boos from the crowd, who continued to insist he be present.

Organisers later said they have demanded a consultative session with the ministry, adding that a larger protest would be held if it did not take place.

Representatives from 19 Orang Asli ethnic groups from various states took turns to address the crowd.

One of them, whose house in Pekan was among those demolished on May 4, said enforcement officers entered while villagers were out for their daily chores.

"At that time, we were going about our usual daily life. Some of us were hunting in the forest, some were sending their children to school."

He said the demolition was carried out on behalf of SRS Makmur Sdn Bhd.

"Yet we were given no notice, no fair hearing. Where was our voice in the decision to demolish our own homes?"

Others warned the government to take the Orang Asli's demands seriously.

"On behalf of the Orang Asli, I do not want the Orang Asli in Peninsular Malaysia to be used for stupid politics. To the ministers who took our customary land rights, return them to the Orang Asli.

"We did not take land illegally, it is our own land which belonged to the Orang Asli," said a spokesman from the Orang Asli Villages Network of Peninsular Malaysia (JKOASM).

"We did not come from nowhere, and we will not go anywhere. Do not use the police to threaten villagers.

"We want the Malaysian government to apologise to the Orang Asli for its mistakes. There are still dirt roads in Orang Asli villages, while in other villages, there are tarred roads," he said. - Malaysia Now, 12/6/2026

Pahang Orang Asli lost houses on state land to oil palm project

About 20 Orang Asli from the Jakun sub-group lost their homes after a plantation company demolished six houses in Pekan, Pahang, on Monday.

According to the Pahang Orang Asli Villages Network (JKOAP), a group of people, accompanied by police, arrived at the small village called Kampung Sungai Baru and began tearing down the houses.

It was supposedly to enforce the company’s right to the land, which was leased from a state-owned corporation for 30 years for an oil palm plantation.

Orang Asli activist Jaidi Musa said the incident shocked the villagers as it was allegedly done without prior notice or consultation.

The JKOAP treasurer claimed the area was part of the Orang Asli customary land where the five families had lived for several generations.

“The issue here is why was the demolition carried out without any prior notice and discussion with the community?

“Any such action should not have been taken without meeting the villagers first.

“How could you simply tear down the community’s houses when they were not at home?” Jaidi told Malaysiakini.

Following the incident, two villagers lodged police reports to object to the demolition and complain about the losses suffered.

One of them, a 58-year-old villager, said he only learned his house was torn down upon returning to the village on Monday afternoon.

The victim said he was dissatisfied because many of his family’s belongings, including their kitchen stove, crockery, and school books, were damaged in the incident.

‘Orang Asli moved in during pandemic’

According to a video Jaidi shared with Malaysiakini, the group responsible for the demolition had gone to the village in several pick-up trucks. A Toyota Hilux emblazoned with the words “Polis Paloh Hinai” was also on scene.

When contacted, Pekan district police chief Zaidi Mat Zin said that police were there only to monitor the demolition.

He said the Pekan police headquarters was notified of the company’s plan and sent a team to ensure no untoward incidents between the parties.

Zaidi, however, denied the claim that the Orang Asli community had been staying on the land for a long time.

“The land is owned by the Perbadanan Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Pahang (PSK), which leased it to (name of another company).

“The Orang Asli were just there recently. They took the opportunity during the (Covid-19 pandemic) movement control order to move there, as the company was not present then,” he said.

Malaysiakini is withholding the plantation company’s name pending its response. Various attempts have been made to reach the firm, including visiting its registered address, but to no avail.

‘Puzzled’ by company’s approach

Meanwhile, PSK chief executive officer Sharuddin Jali told Malaysiakini that they would summon the plantation company for an explanation.

Sharuddin said the land was leased to the company last year, and their demolition operation on Monday was carried out without PSK’s involvement.

“Usually, when PSK handles such a matter, we would engage (authorities) for unified enforcement. There are processes, including consulting with villagers first, not immediate enforcement.

“However, this time the company said they want to do it themselves. So, since they want to handle it, we did not get involved.

“I am also puzzled by their approach. So we will call them for an explanation,” Sharuddin said.

When asked if PSK would engage the affected Orang Asli community, he said they would decide after the discussion.

Cops fail to remand activist, 3 others who ‘demolished temple’

High Court quashes two-day remand order for Tamim Dahri and three others issued by a lower court this morning.

shah alam court
The Shah Alam High Court ordered the four suspects to be freed immediately, according to their lawyer.
PETALING JAYA:
Police have failed to remand activist Tamim Dahri and three other men who allegedly demolished a Hindu temple that was purportedly built without approval in Rawang, Selangor.

The Selayang magistrates’ court had initially granted police a two-day remand order for the four men, but their lawyer immediately filed a review application at the Shah Alam High Court.

Their lawyer, Aidil Khalid, said the High Court later quashed the remand order that was issued by the lower court.

“The High Court has ordered the police to free them immediately,” he said in a Facebook post.

The four men were arrested yesterday for allegedly demolishing part of a temple in Rawang, with police also seizing a backhoe.

The case is being investigated for mischief, causing damage to a place of worship, insult with intent to breach the peace, and criminal trespass.

Tamim was among those behind the planned rally against so-called “illegal” houses of worship last Saturday. He had also been arrested with controversial preacher Zamri Vinoth after trying to proceed with the rally.

Tamim is among those pushing a campaign to demolish places of worship purportedly built on government or private land without permission.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urged the public not to take the law into their own hands over these places of worship, insisting that the rule of law must be upheld. - FMT, 12/2/2026
