PENJAWAT AWAM - Under UMNO-BN, Risk of loss of employment and precarious employment rising fast?

Public servants - penjawat awam - some wrongly refer to them as 'government servants'...

Let us consider what the UMNO-BN government has done to these workers...well, for one public servant employment security is at risk...

1 - Privatization and corporatisation - Well, many public servants are no longer public servants when the government started this...this has affected workers in electrical sector(Lembaga Letrik Negara became TNB), likewise workers involved in Universities, Water Works, Road Works, Sewage Treatment, KTMB, postal workers,  - all these were previously public servants now no more... They lost their employment security and benefits as public servants ...The current UMNO-BN government most likely to move forward in this aspect and more and more public servants will no longer be public servants ... Healthcare also especially through Institute Jantung Negara... If the trend continues, it may also impact other penjawat awam even in the field of education and healthcare...

2 - Outsourcing Work - Well, this has been happening a lot from road works and maintenance, ...even the Immigration Department ...State Jabatan Bekalan Air ...Even garbage collection...resulting in less and less usage or NEED for public sector workers. Even when it comes to the police force, this will be reduced...Local Council the same ...Therefore the number of public servants required reduces, and those with lower positions and wages will simply be retrenched....Bomba for the moment is safe...same with Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam..maybe the armed forces too

3 -  Then the UMNO-BN government is now not giving regular employment - and many new public servants are appointed on the basis of short-term contracts. When the contract ends, very easy for the government to not bother or re-employ...

4 - Remember, workers including public sector workers need REGULAR employment until retirement...they can and should only be removed by reason of serious misconduct, or possibly retrenchment ...which will happen as this UMNO-BN government is keep to outsource work...

Now, public servants work for the people of Malaysia who are their bosses...Every 5 years, there is an election, and the people choose a new government - who will be responsible for administering the government. It is not UMNO_BN that determines your future...it is any government that comes into power...

When Selangor and Penang was taken over by Opposition government, the jobs of State public servants was secure...

Now, when it comes to VOTING, remember that VOTE is secret...so bravely vote for the future good of yourself, your families and your friends in Malaysia ...Do not simply keep bad government and/or their cronies in power just because of TAKUT(fear)...
