Well, another person has died in the custody of the Malaysian police..
According to report - he in a in a cell with six other detainees committed suicide by hanging himself > And none of the other cell-mates saw this and stopped him from killing himself?
Police cells/lock-ups are continuously monitored by police officers - if not there at the lock-up itself - by CCTV... > And no police officer noticed someone trying to hang himself...or the struggle after one hangs oneself and dies?
The police are investigating ...BUT that is seriously not enough > Maybe SUHAKAM should investigate ...maybe the EAIC should investigate...
The cell-mates are important witnesses that will help the investigations...and delay will find them gone - making it difficult to find them ...or they may forget important things with time..
How come the police did not notice that someone was 'suicidal' - Maybe we need to have doctors ar lock-ups who will evaluate detainees continuously ..
Police investigating - how long does it take to look at the CCTVs - so, we should be expecting something more from the police by tomorrow?
Found hanging - that does not mean suicide - he could be killed and placed in that way to hide the murder..
The news reports says that the police revealed the pathologist ' found no criminal element....' - Hello, that is for the coroner to determine after an inquest - not some government doctor...
He[ Seberang Prai Utara police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor] added that the body was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital and that the pathologist found no criminal element in the death. According to the medical expert, there were no external injuries on the man’s body.
But we all know that the police sometimes do lie - remember Anwar's black eye...and also the many findings of inquiries of death that contradicts initial police belief..
Now, Pakatan Harapan rules - and we have a new Home Minister and a new police Chief - but is it still the same as it was in BN era?
We await the results of the police's speedy investigations , which hopefully will be carried by the media ...
SUHAKAM Commissioners should visit immediately this place of detention - before evidence is tampered with or has disappeared...
There has been just too many deaths in police custody in Malaysia ...
