Teresa Kok released - Will there be anyone left to be concerned for the others under ISA?

I am filled with joy that my good friend Teresa Kok has been released ... after about 1 week in Detention...

I am filled with joy when Sin Chew Daily journalist Tan Hoon Cheng was released after 18 hours....

I am concerned that Raja Petra Kamaruddin is still being detained under the ISA...

I am concerned about P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, R Kenghadharan, V Ganabatirau and T Vasanthakumar, detained since 13/12/2007...

I am concerned about Shadul Islam, Abdul Sathar Mohammad Sarjoon, Faycal Mamdouh, Mahamad Nakhrakhel, Muhammad Shuaib Hazrat Bilal and Muhammad Zahid Haji Zahir Shah who arrived at the kamunting Detention Centre Taiping in July 2008.

I am concerned about Yazid Sufaat, a businessman from Kedah who was arrested in 9/12/2001 and is still there languishing in the Kamunting Detention Centre.. going to be SEVEN (7) YEARS soon

I am concerned about the many others currently being detained under the ISA and other laws that allow for Detention Without Trial...

I remember the words of
Reverend Martin Niemoeller..

FIRST THEY CAME FOR...

by Reverend Martin Niemoeller

In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
but I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one left to speak for me.

Reverend Niemoeller, a German Lutheran pastor, was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to Dachau in 1938.Reverend Niemoeller was freed by the Allied Forces in 1945.

But, alas now a lot more Malaysians are getting more and more concerned and are doing things to bring about a better Malaysia...

And now, I am drafting another poem.....

In Malaysia, when Sin Chew Daily journalist Tan Hoon Cheng was released on 13/9/2008 after being detained for 18 hours, the journalist community, the MCA, GERAKAN,... left and were no more bothered about the others still detained under the ISA..

When the MP and State Exco member from DAP Teresa Kok was released on 19/9/2008, the _____________ left, and were no more bothered about the others still detained under the ISA..

When blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin is released on ____, the bloggers left(?), the..... left, and were no more bothered about the others still detained under the ISA..

When P.Uthayakumar,M. Manoharan, R Kenghadharan, V Ganabatirau and T Vasanthakumar were released, the HINDRAF and Makkal Sakti groups left, the lawyers (?) left, the ______ left, and were no more bothered about the others still detained under the ISA..

And when all the ISA Detainees were released, everyone left and no one was bothered about the rest of those detained under the other laws that allow for detention without trial...

It is shocking that the ISA was used sometime in Jun/July 2008 - and we did not even know about it - and suddenly in July 2008, one
Shadul Islam and 5 others were taken to Kamunting Detention Centres. Why were they arrested and detained under the ISA? How long will they languich in detention - without even an opportunity to defend themselves with regard to whateever allegation that is being made against them which Syed Hamid Albar (Malaysian Home Minister) is satisfied warrants them to be detained under the ISA...

Go to ALIRAN's ISA Watch for more details of who and who are being detained under the ISA now (but alas, this is all we know - there may be others who are being detained under ISA and other Detention Without Trial Laws that we do not know about. Go to http://www.aliran.com/oldsite/monthly/2001/3e.htm

YES, LET RPK GO. RELEASE HIM. LET THE HINDRAF GO. LET THE REST GO. USE THE RIGHT MEANS NOT ISA. It is not right and is inhuman.

Let us praise God for prayers answered
Let us thank God for those released as appealed
Let us raise our voices for ISA to be abolished
Let us bank on men's sanity for ISA to be repealed

It is very easy to generate Police Reports against DSAI by using Penang Mamak Umno's 25 Members headed by Wan Abidin Zain, who claimed to be non-partisan, using their uneasiness that most Penangites will now be boycotting Nasi Kandar one more round???

It is very Sad that the legacy of Malaysian Independence is reduced by this Moronic Flip Flop Coward into great disrepute and a laughing stock of the whole world and knowing very well that the UMNO Government has technically collapsed and but he has decided to shamelessly still cling on to power via dubious means like hiding himself via using of the ISA and we cannot imagine that the Malaysia Moronic Flip Flop Coward has now stoop so low and using the Police Deputy IGP as his willing tools especially the Deputy IGP’s clearly taking side as the Police must be neutral and should be not politiking for him.

The Coward Moronic Flip Flop Chicken dare not meet DSAI face to face to settle matters but chose hiding under the use of ISA and that is what you have as a disgraceful cowardice leader for UMNO.

After 51 years MALAYSIA IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE but backwards because of the Oppression from the UMNO goons’ divide and rule fear tactics the Rakyats have matured & you must see all this coming because All The Rakyats of Malaysia are all fed-up & can no longer with-stand the hypocrisies, bullshits, lies and deceits of these UMNO Clowns now in Power ok???

We urge all BN Components MPs with a conscience to do the necessary to make possible a New Malaysia for all Rakyats of Malaysia so that all our children and their children & their children’s children’s future will be safe and secured in the Country we all love and not be intimidated by those UMNO Clowns now in power with their oppressive & fear tactics and in the verge of making Malaysia a Police State if left unchecked otherwise. Save RPK as he is the midst of a conspiracy of the real murderers of Altantuya to silence him for good, instead of being C4ed he could be poisoned and worse off if he is on hunger strike by himself. The Acting IGP is defending the Police position after being made the tools of UMNO’s fear tactics & so he is now making lame excuses for being the Stringed Puppet to be easily manipulated by the Puppeteer, power that be. The Deputy IGP must be held personally responsible for the safety of RPK who has been heard to be tortured otherwise he must be made to eat his own medicine come the New Dawn of Malaysia.

Moronic PeeM and Botak Home Minister last minutes’ attempts to cling on power by using the fear tactics of using the ISA at their whims and fancies selectively against dissent & tried to deny their own actions as they now have no balls to face the wrath of the all the Rakyats of Malaysia. ONE DAY THE MORONIC BOTAK AND FLIP FLOP AND C4 MUST BE MADE TO TASTE THEIR OWN MEDICINE OK?

All Rakyats of Malaysia will see to that these Clowns will be thrown out soon come the New Dawn of Malaysia & that all Rakyats of Malaysia will welcome the New Malaysia on Malaysia Day 916, 2008 for a Malaysia for All Malaysians.

Justice MUST BE DONE for Altantuya and for all those detained under ISA without the trial nor the rights of appeal. Light-up a Candle in the Lantern of the Mid-Autumn Festival for them all to usher in the NEW DAWN OF MALAYSIA COME 916, 2008 and abolish ISA, OSA and whatever Acts that could be made prejudicial & oppressive to the voice of dissent from the Rakyats ok???

I was an ISA detainee in the past, under Section 73 (1) of the Internal Security Act.

I could confirm that there were (and I believe now there are) quite a number of ISA detainees who were detained without knowing why they were being detained under the ISA. I was detained based on the Police's opinion that I posed a threat to the national security because the then Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Rahim Noor, thought that I might be a spy for the currency speculators because of the academic qualification I held in relation to currency trade.

A young man who was detained in another solitary room next to my room told me that he was detained for 40 days because the Police accused him for taking a job order of mould making for a fake-coin manufacturer. The Police probably found a business logo and address which he had nailed on the iron mould for advertising purpose.

A Muslim young man was later brought in to a solitary room which was very close to mine. He said he worked in the TV station and had been accused by the Police for misuse of some drugs like cocaine. The Police detained him under ISA in order to interrogate him and prevent him from leaking the information to his drug supplier on a possible long series of police arrest operations.

A sacked policeman who was confined in a solitary room opposite mine told me that he was detained under the ISA because he knew too much about his superior's involvement in drug trafficking business, in which he was a trade partner.

When this sacked policeman was moved out, then it was a move-in of a MARA College lecturer who was also a leader of the Islamic Movement organization called ABIM. This lecturer told me that he was detained under the ISA because he attempted to explain to people that the sodomy prosecution charge on Anwar was a falsely made accusation and was a big lie.

I do not know whether anyone of the above mentioned camp mates of mine is still being detained in the ISA detention camp. However, I am quite sure that the IGP has the full authority to invoke Section 73 of the ISA for detaining, without seeking for the prior consent of the Minister of Home Affairs, any person who is accused of possibly posing a threat or having done something which is deemed to have threatened the national economy or the national security of Malaysia. With the invocation of Section 73 of the ISA, I believe any IGP will have the power to detain for 60 days anybody whom he does not like, including a politician, a top government officer, a royal family member, or an innocent ordinary citizen whether a male or a female.

I simply cannot understand why the Prime Minister (PM) Abdullah Ahmad Badawi still want to keep the ISA Section 73 as an enforceable law at this critical juncture. Isn't he afraid that the ISA Section 73 will be invoked by the IGP to detain him or his son-in-law one day in the future if his contestant is to overthrow him from the seat of premiership?

If PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi takes the initiative to amend or abolish the ISA now, he will most likely be able to improve his political image and build up his reputation again. The positive effect of ISA abolition will probably help to extend the political life of PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for another two years. It is much regretted that if PM Abdullah fails to see the plentiful advantages of the ISA abolition to him as a person and to the nation as a whole.
