If DAP and Amanah wants to, noting there are now 40 DAP MPs and 8 AMANAH MPs, they can cause PM Anwar Ibrahim to lose the confidence of the majority - and will have to step down as Prime Minister.

DAP is the 'most powerful' party in the MADANI coalition government too - and their FAILURE to act against PM ANWAR - means that they totally support all that this PM has done...
One issue now is AZAM BAKI - who is the MACC Chief, and he is being investigated for possibility the 'corporate mafia' issue and his shareholding issue. Being the CHIEF, means that he has great power and has the CAPACITY to tamper with evidence in MACC > reasonably, he should be SUSPENDED, with no access physically or virtually to MACC.
Remember SUSPENSION pending investigation is NORMAL and do not signify guilt/innocent.
TRUE, Azam Baki's term will END in May 2026 - but his continued presence in MACC now allows for the tampering of evidence, and may UNDERMINE investigations relating to the 'corporate mafia' issue, and even Azam's own shareholding issue, which may be more than Azam having more that RM100,000 worth of shares.
REMEMBER also that Bloomberg has previously alleged matters involving Anwar and Azam Baki...
On Thursday, Bloomberg cited three informed sources as saying that Anwar had instructed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief, Azam Baki, not to investigate his former political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador over the controversial purchase of shares in a company linked to the development of a new billion-ringgit immigration system.
The report also claimed that Azam had told MACC officials that the investigations into former leader Dr Mahathir Mohamad, his three sons and former finance minister Daim Zainuddin were launched on Anwar's instructions.- Allegation of Abuse of Power with regards law enforcement surfaces again against PM Anwar Ibrahim and others - how this be dealt with matters to the Rakyat?
SHOULD ANWAR ALSO BE SUSPENDED PENDING INVESTIGATIONS?
IS ANWAR PROTECTING AZAM BAKI?
'...the reappointment of Azam Baki as chief commissioner of MACC for a one-year term, from May 13, 2025, to May 12, 2026, -Chief Secretary to the Government Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, in a statement today
Many, including Anwar's Daughter Nurul Izzah, was unhappy (would she also have been unhappy if PKR elections was not round the corner?)
PKR deputy president aspirant Nurul Izzah Anwar reiterated her disagreement with the government’s decision to extend MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki’s contract for the third time. She vowed to confront her father, Prime Minister and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, on the matter if elected. - Malaysiakini, 16/5/2025
PKR deputy president candidate Nurul Izzah Anwar called the extension given to MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki "unwelcome"."This was an unwelcome extension. The party (PKR) needs to stand for reforms - and we require the support of the rakyat and our members to do this. - Malaysiakini, 10/5/2025
Police investigations into the Bloomberg report concerning alleged share ownership by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki must focus on the allegations itself and not their publication, says Nurul Izzah Anwar. - Star, 20/2/2026
But, to date, Nurul is yet to call for the SUSPENSION of Azam Baki pending investigations..
In fact, that call has come from other PKR MPs - also trying to get DAP to move
Eight PKR Members of Parliament said they will write to DAP and Amanah leadership, asking them to use their positions in the government to pressure Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to suspend Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki. - NST, 13/2/2026
SUSPENSION pending investigation is the NORM - so why has Azam Baki not yet SUSPENDED is a serious issue? His position as MACC Chief carries a HIGH RISK of evidence tampering - which may ultimately result in the Public Prosecutor NOT being able to charge him because NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE - for prosecution to prove to court a Prima Facie case...or guilt beyond reasonable doubt (Why? Maybe because relevant evidence had been 'gotten rid off' - if this happens, BLAME should fall on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and maybe then he should be charged for crimes of obstruction of justice..
Remember, Anwar said 'There is no immediate need to suspend Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki from his duties while a special committee investigates allegations reported by Bloomberg.(NST, 13/2/2026) - YOU are WRONG, PM.
Let us look at other cases where Public Officers were SUSPENDED pending investigation:-
Police have confirmed that a suspended senior officer arrested over a string of armed robberies - a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) - “The suspect is believed to have played a central role in orchestrating the group’s operations, including planning and coordinating their movements,” Fadil was quoted as saying.Malay Mail 10/4/2026
Did Azam Baki play any role in the 'Corporate Mafia' scandal? Was he one of the MACC officers that abused the powers of MACC? NOT sure - it has to be INVESTIGATED - and Azam BEST be suspended pending investigations.
A senior officer from a government ministry has been immediately suspended following allegations of misconduct.Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the action was taken to allow an immediate investigation into the alleged misconduct to begin. He said that if the officer is found guilty, disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993. "I take note of a case involving allegations of misconduct by a senior officer in a ministry. Therefore, the officer has been immediately relieved of duties while the investigation into the misconduct is initiated," he said in a statement today. - NST, 9/11/2025
Well, Azam is not merely a 'senior officer in some Minister' - he is the Chief Commissioner of MACC (literally the 'BIG BOSS") - he must be suspended. NONSENSE, to even suggest that there no other officer can can fill his shoes temporarily - or that MACC will 'collapse' if MACC is suspended.
Anwar also cautioned against allowing the issue to disrupt the overall functioning of the MACC, particularly at a time when the commission has intensified its anti-corruption efforts. "There are attempts to restrain or undermine enforcement when action becomes firmer and tougher against corruption. Certain parties with vested interests who protect corrupt individuals will use this opportunity." He added that the investigation into the allegations should not be misconstrued as an effort to shield corrupt practices, noting that anti-corruption enforcement must continue without fear or favour. "As you can see in Parliament and outside, including among politicians and some non-governmental organisations, the pressure against corruption is often minimal. Even in high-profile cases, support is limited."I have told the MACC to ignore external pressures and carry out its duties bravely and firmly. This country must be saved from the widespread scourge of corruption."(NST, 13/2/2026)
Anwar's EXCUSES are lame - with or without Azam Baki, the MACC will function well. Note the corporate mafia allegations is about MACC officers abusing their power - and, if Azam was one of these officers, or was in the know - but failed to ACT, it is serious.
HOW the Government delayed investigations into Azam Baki?
1- If the allegations that Azam broke the Public Service rule, of having at any time shares more than RM100,000 value - this was for the Public Service Disciplinary authority to investigate and act upon its finding?
2. If Azam Baki, is in any way a perpetrator of the corporate mafia allegations - the relevant party to be investigating is the POLICE or some other law enforcement body OR the PUBLIC PROSECUTOR
BUT, why did Cabinet DELAY law enforcement and prosecution - by the setting up of '...a special committee, headed by Chief Secretary to the Government' - Why did CABINET 'interfere' with law enforcement/Prosecution - who has the duty to INVESTIGATE and prosecute those involved in CRIME, and the Disciplinary Body to action on MISCONDUCT of Public Officers.
And, then the findings of that 'special committee' was NOT disclosed to the public - ' Anwar said that the investigation would be conducted transparently and openly to ensure the issues raised are properly examined.'
DAP will be BLAMED for all the 'wrongdoings' of PM Anwar Ibrahim, just like all the other political parties in PH and the MADANI government...including the handling of the Azam Baki allegations...
Remember if DAP's 40 MPs come out and say that they have LOST CONFIDENCE in Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister - we will have a NEW Prime Minister(maybe from PH or the existing Madani Coalition - that is exactly what happened when PN ruled - Muhyiddin was replaced by Ismail Sabri)..
Even, with its 40 MPs, DAP at its pinnacle of power is disappointing... it holds GOVERNMENT Power..
OTHER Issues
FIFA-FAM Scandal - here are serious allegations of generating and using FORGED government documents, and the question of whether CITIZENSHIP was granted in accordance with law??? Still, no one has been CHARGED in Court...WHY?
YAYASAN MADANI 'scandal' - OPEN Tender? Private business entity - with 'franchise power' with a Deputy Minister and 2 PKR leaders sitting as Trustees. Remember that maybe a biger issue that when Hannah Yeoh's husband got a State contract..Hannah Yeoh's Husbands Company - Not the Issue. Issue is whether OPEN TENDER or whether contract awarded to just a 'related' companies, etc? Enact law on OPEN TENDER. Where is the OMBUDSMAN?
...and there are MORE
Many believe that the DAP that we knew and respected once may be no more - and if the people rejects DAP this coming GE, PH who relied a lot on DAP's credibility will also fall.
DAP has a GENERAL MEETING coming soon - hopefully the Party will consider also removing support for Anwar Ibrahim - and not simply whether DAP will just withdraw from Cabinet, State Excos, Local Council positions, etc.. it may be LAST Chance for DAP.
As mentioned, whatever Anwar or the MADANI government does or does not do - DAP bears RESPONSIBILITY, more so since it had the real POWER to get us a NEW PM.
How many MPs want Anwar to continue to be the Malaysian Prime Minister? Once, Zahid said that he had '154' MPs - but what is the basis? Remember, that government proposal for 2 term maximum for PM did not pass - proof that Anwar does not have the support of two third MPs - and this was really a uncontroversial Bill that even many Opposition MPs would support...
Remember, the VOTE of Confidence motion in Parliament at the beginning of Anwar's premiership - NOBODY knows how many MPs really support Anwar -because it was a 'voice vote' and votes were never counted. Anwar may have had needed support when he became PM, but now in 2026 - I wonder whether he really have the confidence of the majority anymore...Same with TRUMP, he had the support of people when elected - but now in 2026 he seems to no longer have the same support..
ONE THING that must change - We must ABOLISH 'Voice VOTE' - we have to get every MP to vote(and it must be a 'secret ballot' but better an open ballot)
Members of Parliament (MPs) in India use an Automatic Vote Recording System in the Lok Sabha (Lower House) to cast their votes on bills, motions, and amendments.Key Features of the Voting System:
- Three Buttons: The voting console consists of three buttons: Green for 'Ayes' (Yes), Red for 'Noes' (No), and Yellow for 'Abstain'.
- Operation: To ensure that only the respective member casts their vote, the system requires the MP to use both hands simultaneously—one to press the button and one to activate the vote.
...the European Parliament, members have specialized terminals at their seats. They slide in an electronic card and press buttons to vote "For," "Against," or "Abstain".
And, guess what, there is NOW an App so the constituents can know how their own MP voted. Would it not be great if we knew how OUR own MP voted in Parliament???
At the end of the day. remember that ALL MPs who continued to give Anwar Ibrahim their 'vote of confidence' that allowed Anwar to remain PM would have to face the anger of the people...
Even after Najib's wrongdoing allegations concerning the 1MDB came to light - all MPs and political parties that allowed Najib to continue to be PM must share the BLAME - they cannot claim ignorance to deny RESPONSIBILITY - because they have the POWER to remove a Prime Minister...How much did Malaysia LOSE by reason of continuing to give power to Najib - could we have saved RM20 Billion or MORE - if PM Najib was 'suspended pending investigation' OR removed until investigation was complete?
Same here, are we still SURE that Anwar Ibrahim should remain PM - MORE lies with political parties that have the needed number of MPs that may result in a change of PM...and DAP is one such party..

Senior officer relieved of duties pending misconduct investigation - Chief Secretary

KUALA LUMPUR: A senior officer from a government ministry has been immediately suspended following allegations of misconduct.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the action was taken to allow an immediate investigation into the alleged misconduct to begin.
He stressed that the government will not tolerate any breach of governance or misconduct involving public officers.
Meanwhile, BH obtained a response from government spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil regarding the allegations.
Fahmi said room should be given for the investigation to be carried out.
"I was informed that the matter is under investigation by the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Director-General of the Public Service Department.
"We should allow room for the investigation to be conducted in accordance with the rules set for the civil service," he said. - NST, 9/11/2025
KL police: Suspended Bukit Aman officer under probe in Kepong RM4.4m robbery spree
KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 — Police have confirmed that a suspended senior officer arrested over a string of armed robberies in Kepong was previously attached to the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman.
City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the suspect, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), had been serving in the Commercial Crime Investigation Department prior to his suspension on January 23, the New Straits Times reported today.
“The suspect is believed to have played a central role in orchestrating the group’s operations, including planning and coordinating their movements,” Fadil was quoted as saying.
The DSP was among six suspects — including two bodyguards — detained over multiple break-ins targeting expatriate homes in Kepong, Fadil previously said.
The group, aged between 31 and 51, allegedly posed as police officers to gain entry into the homes, with one suspect wielding a pistol-like object to intimidate victims.
Investigations indicate the syndicate made off with high-end vehicles — including a Toyota Alphard, Rolls-Royce and Bentley — as well as a safe, RM24,200 in cash, US$1,200, jewellery and two gold bars, bringing total losses to over RM4.4 million.
Police also found that the bodyguards involved had used legally licensed firearms during the robberies.
Fadil described the case as a serious breach of integrity within the force, stressing that such misconduct undermines public trust and violates the core duty of police personnel.
He added that authorities will take firm action regardless of rank, and that investigations into the case are ongoing. - Malay Mail, 10/4/2026
PKR MPs push DAP, Amanah to press Anwar on Azam suspension

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight PKR Members of Parliament said they will write to DAP and Amanah leadership, asking them to use their positions in the government to pressure Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to suspend Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
Speaking at a press conference today, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli said the group will also call for an independent investigation into the allegations against Azam.
Rafizi, a former economy minister, added that as senior government backbenchers, they will write to all MPs who are not ministers or deputy ministers.
"We will write to them, across parties, starting next week, to seek their agreement in urging that Azam be suspended immediately and that an independent investigation be initiated without delay," he said.
He said the move aims to ensure that recent Bloomberg reports are not ignored and that a comprehensive, independent and transparent investigation takes place.
The MPs also plan to call on parliamentarians, regardless of party affiliation, to return to their constituencies and hold briefing sessions to explain the allegations to residents.
"We will also write to the electoral reform group Bersih, for them to consider leading and organising a peaceful assembly," Rafizi said, adding it would be the first such assembly to be held during the month of Ramadan.
The other PKR MPs endorsing the statement were Rodziah Ismail (Ampang), Wong Chen (Subang), Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (Setiawangsa), Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya), S. Kesavan (Sungai Siput), Tan Kar Hing (Gopeng), and Zahir Hassan (Wangsa Maju).
Rafizi added that he will personally lodge a police report against Azam following allegations in the Bloomberg report that the anti-graft agency's head interfered in a firearms-related case, allowing the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
During the press conference, Rafizi cautioned Anwar not to repeat the mistakes of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the 1MDB scandal.
"Every revelation made by Bloomberg warrants an immediate criminal investigation. Moreover, these disclosures point to abuse of power and widespread corruption within the country's enforcement agencies, including alleged links between the MACC and a businessman said to have close ties with organised crime groups.
"As Anwar once proclaimed, the people are the judges of the nation. In the end, it will reach the people as well. It is just a matter of time.
"We hope this matter receives serious attention from the government, especially from the prime minister. It would be highly unfair if Pakatan Harapan and he were penalised during the general election over allegations involving a civil servant like Azam."
Earlier today, Azam in a statement said he is ready to be investigated by any committee set up by the government to examine matters relating to his shareholding.
Azam said he was fully open to scrutiny and had nothing to hide, adding that all his financial and asset declarations were made in accordance with prevailing public service regulations and through prescribed official channels.
"I am fully open to being investigated by any independent committee established by the government to specifically examine matters relating to my shareholding.
"I have nothing to hide," he said. - NST, 13/2/2026
No immediate need to suspend Azam Baki, says Anwar [WATCH]
SHAH ALAM: There is no immediate need to suspend Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki from his duties while a special committee investigates allegations reported by Bloomberg.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the special committee, to be chaired by the Chief Secretary to the Government, would first scrutinise the matter in accordance with established procedures before any further decision is made.
"We will follow the normal process first. The Chief Secretary has given preliminary information and said the committee should be formed, then examine the case together with the Attorney General and, I believe, the Public Service director general," he told reporters here after attending Friday prayers at Pusat Islam Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam.
When asked again whether Azam should take leave during the investigation period, Anwar reiterated that the matter should first be properly assessed.
"Let the review take place first. We must determine whether the allegations are serious and whether there is a basis before taking further steps.
"We cannot act merely because there is pressure."
Anwar said that the investigation would be conducted transparently and openly to ensure the issues raised are properly examined.
"We discussed that the review must be truly transparent and open so that we can properly assess the matter," he said.
Anwar also cautioned against allowing the issue to disrupt the overall functioning of the MACC, particularly at a time when the commission has intensified its anti-corruption efforts.
"There are attempts to restrain or undermine enforcement when action becomes firmer and tougher against corruption. Certain parties with vested interests who protect corrupt individuals will use this opportunity."
He added that the investigation into the allegations should not be misconstrued as an effort to shield corrupt practices, noting that anti-corruption enforcement must continue without fear or favour.
"As you can see in Parliament and outside, including among politicians and some non-governmental organisations, the pressure against corruption is often minimal. Even in high-profile cases, support is limited.
"I have told the MACC to ignore external pressures and carry out its duties bravely and firmly. This country must be saved from the widespread scourge of corruption."
Earlier, the cabinet agreed to establish a special committee, headed by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, to investigate allegations against Azam regarding past shareholdings in a financial services firm.
Government spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that the matter was discussed during today's cabinet meeting.
Fahmi said that once the investigation led by the Chief Secretary is completed, the report will be presented to the cabinet for any follow-up action.
He said this is to ensure transparency and integrity in the investigation process.
Bloomberg reported on Feb 10 that Azam was listed as holding 17.7 million shares in Velocity Capital Bhd, citing a corporate filing with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
The article reported that the shareholding was disclosed in Velocity Capital Bhd's annual return lodged on Feb 3 last year.
Based on the company's share price at Monday's close, the stake would be worth about RM800,000.
Checks on the company's web portal revealed that it is listed on Bursa Malaysia and was previously involved in transportation, logistics and ceramics manufacturing.
It is now moving towards financial services, including moneylending.
On Feb 12, the news portal again alleged that a number of MACC officers were linked to a network of businesspersons accused of colluding and using intimidation tactics against company executives.
Azam told the New Straits Times that he had nothing to hide regarding the RM800,000 worth of shares, saying that the transaction had been properly declared.
He said the shares were purchased and disposed of within the same year.
Describing the reports as malicious and misleading, Azam said he is considering legal action over their allegedly defamatory nature.
Azam has since issued a letter of demand (LOD) to Bloomberg over what he describes as a defamatory article alleging that he held millions of shares in a financial services company.
His solicitors, Zain Megat & Murad, are also seeking RM100 million in damages for alleged injury to his reputation and professional standing.
