Schools - well, is it not under the Education Minister? Should it not be this Ministry that should be responsible for maintenance, repairs, upkeep and ...?
In this 2 media report, Azmin Ali, who is now the Economic Affairs Minister seem to be the Minister who seem 'approved' the construction and now money is being channeled? Odd, because should it not be an application by the Education Ministry ...and should not the money be chanelled to the Education Ministry...or maybe the Public Works Ministry, who is responsible also for Federal Buildings?

Second Issue - Who is applying? The report said that it was the PIBG (Parent Teacher Association). It also says that '...the site evaluation was conducted by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) in the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) and the reports were submitted to the ministry....' Should not the Works Minister, JKR, Education Ministry...be involved...

Does this mean that Parent-Teacher Associations and maybe even Alumni Associations directly make application for building additional infrastructure, etc directly to Azmin Ali, Minister of Economic Affairs?
Third issue - 10 schools in KL/Selangor - surely there are other schools in Malaysia that have more pressing needs with regard to maintenance and additional infrastructure...many schools, even in Temerloh, have not enough money to even repair doors, tables, chairs, windows...surely, more important would have been to provide basic maintenance to all schools....Then, we see that some of these schools may also be in the Parliamentary Constituency and/or State seat in which Azmin Ali is MP and/or ADUN - did this affect the decision? A Minister is responsible for the whole country - and his own constituency should never be seen as getting special treatment...

So now PIBG and Alumni Associations can directly apply to the Minister of Economic Affairs - and he will deliver? The government must tell us the proper process - we always thought that we should raise this issues to the Headmaster...to the District Education Office ...to the Education Minister...but this report suggest that there are other 'more efficient' ways of improving the condition of the schools that our children attend...
Our schools in Malaysia needs attention - maintenance and upkeep...Football fields need to be re-surfaced, windows/doors/tables/chairs need repair...paint jobs, etc..

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 — Ten schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor have
been allocated RM3.43 million to build various infrastructure.

KUALA LUMPUR - Sejumlah RM3.43 juta peruntukan diberikan kepada 10 buah sekolah bagi pembinaan prasarana di sekolah sekitar Kuala Lumpur dan Selangor.
Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ekonomi dalam satu kenyataan berkata, bantuan yang diberikan menerusi Peruntukan Projek Khas bakal memberi kemudahan yang lebih selesa dan memenuhi keperluan para pelajar serta guru.
Menterinya, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali menyampaikan kelulusan pembinaan prasarana tersebut bersama sumbangan kemasyarakatan.
“Kelulusan projek-projek ini adalah berdasarkan permohonan sumbangan daripada pihak Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) sekolah yang terlibat.
“Antaranya pembinaan dewan terbuka dan pagar sekolah, menaik taraf dan membaik pulih surau, bangunan serta kemudahan asas sekolah,” jelas kenyataan tersebut
Menurut kenyataan itu, semakan dan penilaian di tapak telah dijalankan oleh Unit Penyelarasan Pelaksanaan (ICU), Jabatan Perdana Menteri (JPM) dan laporan dikemukakan kepada pihak kementerian.
Projek itu kemudiannya diluluskan memandangkan terdapat keperluan mendesak untuk dilaksanakan di sekolah terbabit.
