Well, ONE State Legislative Assemblyperson (ADUN) in Johor has left UMNO to join Muhyiddin-Mahathir's BERSATU...only ONE?
In comparison - how many BN ADUNs and MPs in Sabah jumped ship to join Shafie's new party? ZERO....only ones jumping to this 'new party' are from PKR and DAP??
So do these new political parties of recently ex-UMNO-BN 'leaders' really have any support from these UMNO-BN Members and/or Supporters? Where is mass exodus of members from UMNO-BN to join Muhyiddin-Mahathir? Where is this significant number of UMNO-BN MPs and ADUNs jumping over to BERSATU?
Or, is it really true that UMNO-BN leaders personally do NOT really have any support??
When in UMNO-BN, holding high positions, with the capacity to give money, benefits, contracts, ensure appointments with high income - then they have many 'supporters' - but when they are out - their UMNO-BN member and supporters support just disappear...???
So, looks like BERSATU and maybe even Shafie Apdal's new party will be depending on the already existing and still growing support that Opposition already have - or the 'other than UMNO-BN' supporters??

And this ADUN was also the one who was re-appointed as the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books
(ITBM) chairperson by the then Education Minister, Muhyiddin? I wonder whether this ADUN was getting paid a 'large salary' as Chairperson of ITBM? Was this 'political cronyism'?
As I mentioned before, in my opinion, elected 'wakil rakyat' should be full time people's representatives - and they should just be earning their MP/ADUN remunerations.
MPs and ADUNs should be FULL TIME peoples' representative ...
Did this ADUN leave UMNO also because he was promised the position of Secretary General of BERSATU? Were there other promises too?

The Education Ministry has sacked Jorak state assemblyperson
Shahruddin Salleh as Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books
(ITBM) chairperson after he was appointed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia
secretary-general.
"Please be informed that Shahruddin is terminated with immediate
effect as chairperson of ITBM board of directors," said an Education
Ministry statement uploaded on Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid's
Facebook page.
According to the Education Ministry statement, Shahruddin's service was terminated based on the powers vested in the education minister under Article 135(1) of ITBM's Articles of Association.
The statement said Shahruddin was appointed as ITBM chairperson on Feb 1, 2010 but resigned on April 19, 2013 due to "involvement in politics".
"However, on July 1, 2013, he was reappointed by the then Education Ministry to hold the same position at ITBM until June 20, 2015.
"After the expiration of the contract, Shahruddin was extended as ITBM chairperson from July 1, 2015 until June 30, 2017," it said.
It is unclear what the Education Ministry meant by "involvement in politics" as Shahruddin has been Jorak state assemblyperson since 2008.
Muhyiddin Yassin was the education minister when Shahruddin was reappointed in 2013 despite resigning earlier.

Muhyiddin now leads Bersatu, an Umno splinter party, after he was dismissed from the government.
Shahruddin's move to join Muhyiddin had caused a stir in BN as the
ruling coalition lost its two-thirds majority in the 56-member Johor
state assembly.
His defection meant his Umno membership was automatically terminated.
ITBM was set up by the government in 1993 to aid the translation industry in the country.
It receives funding from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, which is managed by the Education Ministry. - Malaysiakini, 8/10/2016
